Personal Bio

Lonnie was born in Northwest Louisiana in the small town of Vivian. His mother was from an Irish immigrant family in New Orleans, and his father was born in east Texas, but later earned a law degree from Tulane and settled in Vivian.

Frequently visiting his grandmother in New Orleans, Lonnie became fascinated with the diverse cultures, foods, and fragrances of larger cities.  As a business consultant, he greatly valued opportunities to travel to New York, Dallas, Houston, San Francisco, and Chicago. Later he was privileged to travel around the globe on business projects, primarily concentrated in Japan and China. Through these travels, Lonnie gained a fresh perspective on how businesses in America must adapt to thrive.   

Professional Bio

After graduating with an accounting degree from Louisiana Tech, Lonnie's first post-graduate job was as an accountant and later internal auditor at Texas Eastern Corporation, an energy company whose business was natural gas pipelines and exploration and production of oil and gas. While at Texas Eastern, he studied at night for the uniform CPA exam and passed it. 

After five years at Texas Eastern, he joined a CPA firm in Shreveport, beginning his public accounting career. With his natural ability to listen to clients, assess their problems, and respond with carefully thought-out solutions Lonnie quickly built a significant client base.

Always seeking to find new management tools for his clients, Lonnie enrolled in Dr. Michael Hammer's Process Reengineering Program. As a result, he earned a Certificate Of Excellence in Business Reengineering. With this expertise, Lonnie has been able to help businesses streamline their operations and eliminate non-value-adding activities.

Finding purpose in his work, he later co-founded James, Hardy, and Haley, CPA's, based in Shreveport, LA, where he served his clients for over thirty years. In his on-going strategy to concentrate on the particular needs of his clientele, Lonnie founded his own firm, Lonnie Hardy, CPA, in 2021.
